LG,
I tried to make this comment on your site but no luck: Which house in New Hr was your g-g-g grandfather's? I didn't think any of the houses were that old. Also, would Thorton have been changed to Thorne over the years, I wonder, as Thorne is still a common name there, but not Thorton.
Some of us have walked thru the graveyard in Cat Cove and there are some very old headstones there.

Yes for sure! thwe first two generations were referring to themselves as thortons then changed to thorn then thorne.
I actually made a mistake upon asking my mom it's my g-g granddads.

Its across the river from your side of the harbour by the corner of the highway and cat cove road.

it just sold actually....kinda sad I didnt know about it!

Ha ha...awesome, completely sympathize with your paddle from hell, been there, done that, more than once. You're very lucky though, wouldn't have had any pampering from my wife, she takes a dim view of shenanigans!

It was a slugfest against the wind for sure. I have not had a sip of grog since! And she is a saint for sure!
