Hi guys and gals. You've been very helpful on drysuits and filtration. Thanks.
I hear that most camping on the Nahanni is on gravel bars or cobble/rocky shores. I usually travel with the thinnest ultralight thermarest. Will my back be left with permanent impressions? Or do I need something thicker?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Quote: Will my back be left with permanent impressions? Well, lots of those gravel bars do have areas of sand, but....then you have a sandy tent. Also, not all of them do. I took an X-Ped downmat, inflated it each night....and slept like a baby. Was it worth the extra room/weight? There were only 2 portages, so.... YOU BET !!!!!!!!!!

And I took my ultra light thermarest and faired fine.
Something thicker is often nicer, opens up site options or comfort.
It comes down to comfort, cost, space, etc.... a personal decision.

You can usually find somewhere off the rocks to sleep, but the LE thermarest doesn't take up too much room in a barrel, I'd upgrade just to be safe.
