We have made the final trip decision and are off to to the Morse & Armark. I can find notes about various parties doing one or both rivers but there isn't a lot of detail available. Has any one come across any info in their travels?

Someone did a presentation on the armark one year at the MCA Far North Symposium, plus I know Bob O'Hara has paddled it.
The morse would have been in chemun at some point.

Details are hard to find! It won't make difference to going or not going. I am just curious. For instance none of the trip reports I saw on the Ellice mentioned that it really cooks along and making up distance is really easy. That would have nice to know eary in the trip when there was a couple hikes that would have been nice to do, that we declined due to time constraints.

Doug - I haven't seen anything in print with much detail either. Maybe time for the personal approach? For the Morse, why not e-mail Michael Peake at Che-Mun? He has posted here in the past, can't hurt to ask. Another group that did the Morse a couple of years ago was led by Jeremy Harrison - possible contact info here: http://www.transarcticexpedition.com/contact.htmlBob Dannert has done the Armark (see pakcanoe website). Use Google for his phone number in Sedona, Arizona. All he can do is hang up! -jmc

I'm back! It was cold (the whole trip), wet (we had rain 16?out of 26 days) absolutely miserable (5 days), loads of ice problems & windy (24 days). we did make it to the coast, with a day to spare (although the issue was in doubt for a while). Saw loads of critters, 150+ muskox, 6000+ caribou, 20+ wolves, & only 2 sik sik. Oh and about a million geese. More details to come.
