There are a number of odds and ends that are required for general group use.

• Tarp -  nylon with grommets (for building rain shelters)

• Rope (supporting rain shelters, hanging food packs, etc)

• Carabiners or pulleys (useful for hanging packs or assisting in canoe rescues)

• Toilet Paper (pack in Ziploc bags)

• Axe (optional)

• Saw (portable folding)

• Water filter or other purification system

Nice to have, but not absolutely necessary

• Playing cards

• Journal to record trip notes

• Field Guides (birds, plants, trees)

• Lantern

• Musical instruments
