Home Made Maple Syrup

For those who like maple syrup with their pancakes, but don't like the potential mess of a leaky container in their pack not to mention the extra weight.

In a Ziploc bag place ½ cup of sugar and about ¾ teaspoon of maple flavoring. At breakfast, add the bag's contents to 1/4 cup of boiling water in a small pot (a sierra cup works great for this). Stir until sugar has dissolved. You got syrup without having to carry the bottle. This works just as well at home. 1 cup water 2 cups sugar 1 tablespoon maple flavoring (or to taste) We haven't bought syrup in years!
