| Park at Central Lake Temagami Access Road parking lot. This road is clearly marked on Hwy 11 just south of Finlayson Provincial Park.
Paddle north to 75 m portage onto Diamond Lake. West to 430 and 435 M potages to Wakimika Lake. South to Wakimika River. South into Obabika Lake to 940 M portage to Obabika Inlet. East to Northwest arm. South to Lake Temagami. East then south to parking lot | ||

| This route could be paddled in either direction. There is a slight current and several beaver dams on Wakimika River but all would be easily surmounted even if you went upstream.
We were up against fairly heavy winds every day which made for difficult open lake travel. | ||

The portage at the SW end of Diamond as you head towards Wakimika, although relatively short, is quite rocky and can be dangerous in wet weather. The landing at Diamond is rocky and the trail towards Wakimika (actually the small pond which splits the portage) starts out over jagged rocks. Once heading uphill the trail crosses bedrock but then begins to descend over drops and rubble and ends in a rock maze and a ledge. Do not attempt to speed through this section but once on the other side of the small lake and up on the bedrock things ease up. The second trail which leads to Wakimika is much easier and a portion of this path is along an old abandoned logging road. watch for the turn off to the left and downhill through the woods to Wakimika. | ||
