| Start at Flemmings Landing.
Canoe west on the Pickerel River to Smoky Creek. Portage Right 200m into Smoky creek. Canoe 1km, Portage left 75m Canoe 1km, portage Left 400m into Smoky Lake Proceed south through Smoky Lake into Noganosh. Return the same. | ||

| An easy 2-3 day route depending how far you travel into Noganosh and the connecting lakes. Without portaging you can go to Mud, Last and John Lakes. There is a fly in camp on Smoky and a few hunting camps on the other lakes. The shores are lined with mixed forest and campsites are scattered over the area. Fishing for small and largemouth bass and northern pike is good to excellent at times. | ||
Trip Log / Diary | ||
| We have done this trip 3 times, twice with my son and once with the whole family. Friday Left home 4:00 am in Woostock. Stopped in Parry Sound for breakfast and last minute forgotten supplies {bathing suit}. Took hwy 69 to hwy 522 and turned east toward Port Loring. Arrived at Flemmings landing at 10:30 am. Flemmings Landing can be a little hard to find. You take the first road past S narrows {about 7kms}.Turn right on this road, take first lane left to the parking lot. Loaded our gear and canoed west down the Pickerel river to Smoky creek. Portaged right beside a cottage to Smokey creek. Canoed up the reed and weed filled creek checking out all the frogs and signs of moose. Portaged left 75m around a huge beaver dam a short uphill climb. Proceeded for another km and took the portage left, a flat 400m into Smoky Lake. Canoed through Smoky into Noganosh and set up camp on the first island on Noganosh. The kids loved this site a swimming rock on the west side and fishing on the other side. Room for 3 tents and a good fire pit. Saturday And Sunday Used the site we where on as a base camp. On sat. we canoed to the west end of the lake and checked out the dam, at least the Kids did, there where some people in the hunt camp located there and they offered me a cold beer. On the way back we stopped for lunch and before I had the canoes beached Sebastian and Jonathon each caught a small mouth bass for a fresh shore lunch. Sunday we headed south to explore that end of the lake. We found a high rock outcrop with a drop of 20 feet which the kids used as a diving and jumping rock. Monday Packed up camp by 11:00am canoed back to the truck. Loaded up and where home by 11:00pm Bill Poort | ||
