Algonquin Provincial Park. Route information.
Algonquin Park Route information is available from three sources,
1. online at sites dedicated to the Park,
2. online at more general sites, and
3. offline.
Since so much Route information (literally hundreds of trip reports) is available at known dedicated sites, I have decided not to post Route entries from these sites, specifically those (such as Algonquin Adventures) listed immediately below.
My time is better spent, I think, in posting links to reports at the general sites since these are mostly unknown to the paddling community. These links, and references to offline sources, are the ones posted under Access ....
Summary: For Algonquin Route information, consult the dedicated sources listed immediately below as well as the explicit Route entries listed by Access point.

Access 17. Information.
The access point is called Shall Lake although it is not on that lake. The reason is explained by frozentripper and Splake in the thread
http://www.myccr.com/phpbbforum/viewtop ... 08&t=38589
"[T]he access point is still called Shall Lake from earlier on when another road provided access on or near that lake.
The new access is actually on the Opeongo river between Farm lake and Crotch lake with Shall further to the east, past Crotch ... on a top map the parking lot and boat launch is beside (west side) of the Shirley lake road where it crosses the river."
And
"... the new access is right between Farm Lake and Crotch Lake. The section of river there is pretty short. Common reference when I've been up there the last couple of years is that if you put in on the south side of the road next to the permit office then you are putting in to Crotch Lake but if you put in 100 yards away on the north side of the road where the parking lot is then you are putting in to Farm Lake."
Some of my entries may need revising.
