I\'ve had my stove for about 8 years now. After all the time, all I have replaced is the odd o-ring, and not because they were defective, but more for preventative maintnance. Better before, than during a trip. As far as cooking, it\'s a breeze to use...and by the way..I love the noise it makes! Give it a 9, just because it was 140 bucks, but well worth it!

Awesome stove. Boils water in a flash, can handle larger pots without any worry of it tipping over. Besides being a little loud, this stove is perfect.

Love this stove! Hasn\'t let me down yet, backpacking, canoeing whatever! Yes, very loud, but no worries about critters coming to check out what your cooking, ha ha. Had mine 4 years now and still works like new. Am careful with the plastic pump handle, so far so good. Well worth the money. Happy trails everyone and good eats!

LOVE THIS STOVE! I have two, and have never had any problems with either of them. After using them, several friends and clients have purchased them as well, and they love them. They do sound like a Harrier Jet taking off, especially if you have a few of them going (we eat very well), but it makes you appreciate the sounds of nature when they are off! They simmer as well as my Kitchenaide gas stove, and on high, the Dragonfly cranks out more BTU\'s than my biggest burner at home! I wouldn\'t take any stove out without the expedition repair kit. If a stove goes down, I will have to chose: do I give up the bread or the cake? Shudder. Derek Mereweather

I\'ve had this stove for abot 2 years. I used it only with naphta, it never got clogged or anything. It sure is loud but it is due to the decompression of the fuel, any stove with naphta will do that. Sure you could use butane cans but good luck using it below 5°C. Naphta is good anywhere anytime. And I didn\'t have any problem with the pump, maybe because I pump it straight. You have to remember that it\'s an product made to be light and not to be abused. Amasing flame control. I love it.

Paid in USD. I've had this stove for about 2 years now. I've used alot of different stove set ups and decided to buy this one after a friend brought his on a trip. Its a bit more complicated than requires some more maintanence than others but it cooks extremely well. The boil time is faster than any stove I've used. I see alot of complaints about the noise, but I kind of like it because it tells me the how hot the flame is and how well the fuel is burning. Also not mentioned is that this thing is rock stable and can handle fairly wide base pots.

i like this stove a lot, with a little care this stove will last you...i have had it for over 5 years and its closing in on over 100 days on the water and it still works like new. nothing has come close to breaking...i do agree some parts like the pump could become a problem. They look like they were made on a friday. However, i have not run into any problems yet. I agree with Shayne's tips. You need to put a bit of blood and sweet into things to make sure they work properly. Just because we are in a modern world, doesn't mean things will service themselves. The rest off the major pros are already listed, so i'm off...happy trippings people

It was a great stove out of the box, but after a lot of use the fuel line gets clogged. Its great for one or two trips a summer, but can't handle more than a 100 days on the water.

Fastest stove I\'ve used, best for simmering, and most efficient. Also has a much better pot support than other stoves. I have broken the fuel pump, but I blame that more on my shoddy maintanence and massive use than to product flaws. Scott

I have had my Dragonfly for about 4 years now. I find that it boils water in about 3 min. which I like but it has to be the loadest damm stove I have ever had. I have since replaced it with a better buy.

I have had the Dragonfly for 3 years now, and am ready for a rating. Nothing has broken so far, but I do not let others operate it in case they handle it rougher than I do. I also carry a spare pump handle with the little clip that some folks report as a potential breakage item. The noise is bad, but the ability to simmer without having to jiggle the fuel tank\'s pressure earns it a good rating, in my opinion.

I\'ve had my Dragonfly for about 5 years now. Just recently the main element broke off from the fuel line. About a year ago the plastic pump in the tank also broke. Both occassions MEC quickly replaced. In fact I have a brand new one now. In terms of performance I love it. Boils a litre of water in about 3 minutes. Much faster than any Coleman. Can also nicely simmer. It is very loud. Like a jet airplane. When it\'s not broken it\'s a great stove. But I\'ll give it a 7 for reliability reasons.

Nice simmer and quick boil, but that's about it. Pump assembly made of cheap plastic garbage. broke twice during one trip. My friends broke too. The bllody thing makes you start to laugh the first time you hear it riunning. Sounds like a jet plane on takeoff! You literally become angry from the noise while you are cooking your meal. Save your money and by an Optimus Varifuel.

An awesome stove, but I must add this caution to the above reviews. The fitting where the fuel line meets the pump must be kept well lubricated because it seems to be inhetently weak. The plastic sleeve that creates the seal fell off on my Dragonfly on the Missinaibi a couple of years ago. The friction between the fuel line fitting and the plastic sleeve might have been too much and it probably fell off while diassembling the unit for packing. Keep it lubricated with a heavier silicone lubricant or more frequent applications of something lighter. Cheers

After using a variety of stoves in the past we find the Dragonfly to be a dream come true. It boils, simmers and bakes with the best of them and does not require constant attention while simmering. My advice - use the supplied windscreen - it speeds the process and saves fuel. As Lloyd reports, this stove is not designed for stealth cooking but its good qualities far outnumber the minor annoyance of the blowtorch sound while boiling water for my morning coffee. Price is in US dollars.

The Dragonfly has high output, but is easily controllable to a birthday candle flame. It provides a good stable base for large pots. The wraparound aluminum windscreen works quite well in wind than & makes the stove very fuel efficient under all conditions. The Dragonfly is LOUD at full throttle & sounds like a jet taking off. It's plastic fuel pump has been known to break.

This stove is top notch. I own several stoves varying from white gas, multi ful, cannister, aclcohol...and the Dragonfly will always be my go to stove. It is efficient, simmers well, function as a waterboiler on those high country hikes and hunts (1 litre under 4 minutes) and it will burn diesel, white gas, kerosene, .... I once took a few capfuls of gas out of my outboard motor to boil the kettle with it... I hear a lot about how loud the Dragonfly is. My purpose for the Dragonfly is to either cook with it or boil water with it. If I am cooking with it, it is on a medium heat or lower (very quiet)...If I am boiling water with it, it is full open (a bit loud) but when I am only interested in boiling water as fast as I can on some ledge or creek, the noise really doesn't bother me for that 5 minutes ... My suggestion is to practice with stove several times before setting off on an extended excursion. It can take a little getting used to.
