Put in at Olmsted Beach near Armstrong Park in North Bay. Free parking across the street from the park.
This ~96km canoe trip, beginning at Trout Lake on the eastern end of North Bay and ending at the settlement of Deux-Rivieres on the Ottawa River, is a relatively challenging canoe trip. A canoer making this trip over 4 to 5 days should be moderately physically fit, yet not necessarily in top physical condition. I travelled this route using 2 canoes in a party of 4 and completed it in approximately 4 1/2 days. We paddled at a steady, yet not forceful rate, from around 8am to around 4:30pm. By 4pm, we kept an eye out for flat locations to set up a tent.
