Well went out for the drive today. Going in I took Sissiboo Rd in Weymouth and down through Gilberts Cove Rd. I took this way a few years back and wow what a drive this time. Very slow going with a lot of soft areas and rocks. Would not pass this section with cars.

Coming out I took a left at the five way junction just up from Long Tusket Lake, towards Riverdale Rd and out to the 340 via Langford. Road was very smooth and will be using this way in next week. Saved me at least a hour of slow driving.

From the Junction and on to the put in at Sporting Lake Stream the road is not that bad. There are a couple soft sections and one washout on the road but should be doable in 2 wheel drive truck.

Sporting lake stream is quite high. There is the rooot structure of an overturned tree by the river edge that I had a picture standing in front of a few years back, was at least 20 ft of water between it and the shore today.

Yes, excellent. I have changed my plans and am going to Low landing instead or Kedge River Bridge. I will however update you all with lake/road conditions.

The road into Low Landing, is good to go. There is 1 rough section of the Devonshire road, a couple hundred meters long. Otherwise, things are dry and open. We did see 1 car parked at Low landing, so with a complete disregard for your undercarriage and some patience, anything is possible.

Road into Mersey River bridge was a mess when we went in on Friday. A lot better today, put some fresh gravel down. Would have to be real careful getting there with a car, if you liked it.

I think the water may be going down a bit....maybe.Wished I'd brought the canoe and rod after getting there.

Only other person was a conservation officer who stopped me just as I started back out.Looking for fishing licences,over limit etc but sadly,he went away without having collected any more $$ for the coffers.

The water levels are still dropping.There are a fair number of pull-overs or drag-throughs on the way to sporting lake.I expect you'd do a lot of in the summer time .

Great pics, how was the fishing?

Lots of Mayflies coming off and all the little yellow perch you wanted. Some decent size though.I didn't even uncase the rod, just paddled while my daughter harassed them on the way out.
Same deal in Sporting Lake but then we didn't really give it much of a hard go fishing wise-mostly just looked around.
