Hey Guys,

I found a 16’ Kevlar canoe for 1000$
Specs are here : http://www.canotsportage.com/products.html

At 38 lbs, its very tempting. What do you think ?

I'm not familiar with the maker, but if they have good reviews it looks like a good canoe. I'm suspicious of the weight though.

--- Update ---

I wanted to let you know that I found a good deal 10 minutes from home.
I finally bought a Old Town Discovery Scout in very good shape for a good price.
Seller included 2 flotation bags

Its the Poly version of the Appalachian. I know its a bit heavy but I believe its gonna be a good starter canoe.
Should be stable and durable.
Thanks all for your help, I'll report back once it sees some water

Nice boat! Not sure how important skid plates are on a poly boat but if you decide to do it, it's a pretty easy process:

Thanks

I might put new skid plates but most probably not before next winter.
Will use as is for now.
