We took a trip to Temagami in 2011. Headed up the Goulard Loggin road to Obabika Lake, then to the old growth forest, down the Obabika River, up Wawigama Creek and into Wawiagama Lake. As always I've put together a video and I've got a lot of pictures to share. Quite a route, one of my favorites!

Best watched in 720P HD!

Brad and Wayne- I've just spent a fantastic eight minutes with you guys on your Obabika paddle- a professional quality video trip complete with poetic commentary. Thanks for the trip.

We'll have to get there in early October- with the fall colours as a bonus. Now I'll have to check out all those other stajanleafs posts of yours to see what else you pointed your camera at!

BTW- your website http://www.explorethebackcountry.com/home is a goldmine of information and inspiration for anyone looking to try canoe tripping.

Your pictures and video brought back to life the same trip we did in July 2010. There were very low water levels that summer, but Obabika River still held its flow. We had to negotiate a few lift overs across obstructing logs. Wawiagama Creek was a treat! We had to drag through many muddy parts of this so called ditch. But Wawiagama Lake was a reward worth getting to. We also did the old growth forest hike to the "3 Sisters" and up to Chee-skon-abikong Lake.

We didn't challenge the Goulard Road access pt, but canoed to and from Obabika Lake & River from Temagami Central Access Road via Obabika Inlet. That added almost another 50 km of paddling to our trip. Still great country once you get away from the busy central hub of Lake Temagami.
