Since I have been re-learning how to post pictures, I thought that I would re-post some pictures from the Cold River and Waterhen River trip that we did this summer. Many thanks to those who told me they couldn't see the pictures in my previous attempts. It was most helpful to be told that others could not see the pictures since, when I previewed them or logged off and viewed them, I could see the pictures. With help, I think (hope) I have it right this time.
Please let me know if you can not see the pictures.

Nice buck - he seemed more curious than afraid

Lots of blueberries and Saskatoons and some raspberries on the trip.

We don't have snakes where we live so this little guy was interesting.

Looks like a nice river. I'm assuming you had it all to yourselves. How far down did you go? Lac des Isles looks bigger in the photo than on the map. Love the wildlife shots, and that sunset is so orange! Another question, where is Rusty Creek?

It was a very nice river. There were motorboats on Pierce Lake, Lepine Lake, Waterhen Lake and on the river very close to those lakes. Not a wilderness trip overall but many times, especially on the river sections, we were alone.
We went from Pierce Lake to Tawaw Outfitters on the west side of Waterhen Lake. I would have liked to have gone all the way to the Beaver River but couldn't arrange a shuttle.
Lac des Isles is about 18 km long.
Rusty Creek flows out of Rusty Lake which is just SW of Greig Lake. It flows into the Waterhen River. We went about a kilometer upstream on Rusty Creek to a nice campsite we had been told about. Evidently it is possible to start at Third Mustus Lake (or Second Mustus or First Mustus) and follow Rusty Creek to the Waterhen River.
For more information see the trip report (without pictures) I submitted to the Saskatchewan Trip Reports section of CCR.
