Hello folks.

Can I paddle and camp in the backcountry of Port Cartier reserve? I've been trying to reach SEPAQ up there for weeks.

I would like to put in at Lac Arthur and paddle the Reviere Schmon to Lac Walker. Maybe it's doable, maybe not, but it looks nice on the map! LOL!

Seriously, the reserve looks like a dream place to disappear for a week. But are there many backcountry camping sites and is there a policy as to trip itinerary authorization and such.

Anybody familiar with the reserve and wandering in it by canoe, please let me know.

I don't know that Reserve in particular but generally yes, in a Reserve you can paddle and camp in the back-country but there are no maintained camp-sites. And yes, there is a fee and they want to know your itinerary.
