Hi Folks,

I am new to the forum and quickly wanted to introduce myself.

I live in Yellowknife, NWT and have a very strong passion for canoeing. Prior to Yellowknife I have lived in northern Manitoba.

Fortunately I work a 4 day on 4 day off work rotation. I spend virtually all my days off in a canoe as I have access to some of the worlds best rivers and lakes in my own backyard.

If anyone has any questions I would be more than happy to help. If you are looking for a place to stay, a place to park your vehicle, a ride, tips on getting in and out of the north, I would be more than happy to assist.

I currently work for Air Tindi as a Charter Coordinator and because canoeing is a passion I tend to specialize in Canoe trips. In regards to flights & logistics, if I cannot help you I am more than willing to point you in the right direction.

It is always a pleasure to be chat with fellow paddlers! As of the early fall I have received may calls and emails for 2011 trips.

Currently it is full out winter here in Yellowknife. It is snowing pretty good right now & the low tomorrow is calling for -26C. Until next June I can only dream of canoeing. This time of year in my free time I enjoy photography and exploring the arctic region by air.

Everyone stay safe and I look forward to being an active contributor to this forum.

Welcome aboard and thanks for the offers. I think you will be a great resource, to veteran and newbie destination NWT canoeists.
The Air Tindi connection is great.
Hope Allan includes a referral to you in the NWT and Nunavut routes section.
GG

Thanks for the wonderful offer. Someone will take you up on it.

After a couple of years of trips out of Yellowknife (via Air Tindi) I'm considering going out of northern Manitoba! Where were you at? Any comments about getting air charter access into Nunavut out of northern Manitoba?

This is a bit off-topic, and more that a little contrary to the purpose of the originator of the thread (my regrets for this), but some parties access the Thelon and Dubawnt from Kasba Lake Lodge.
We used the lodge for our 2003 Kazan trip and were extremely pleased with everyone there.
Since then, another member of our party has chatted with the lodge people at outdoor shows; a good many canoe parties use their services, and not just for the Kazan.
Again, many thanks to downnorth. Rarely does one see such generosity.

Thanks Allan, I've too have used Kasba Lake Lodge on more than one occasion. Just wondering what else downnorth could suggest.
