Links to these videos were forwarded to me and I thought that some members of this forum might find them interesting. FYI, the Bighorn Dam is located on the North Saskatchewan River in western Alberta. It is not too far from where the river exits the mountains.

Hi, norm4n,
Most of Alberta's mountain and foothills rivers are quite braided in places and most have lots of wood in them so sweepers and logjams are the norm.
It is not possible for me to know exactly what the conditions were like in a situation like that, but it seemed to me that they were not anticipating the possibility of a logjam even though the river had so much wood in it. I'm so glad it turned out well. I thought that they were very fortunate.
