Just wondering if there are any hammock hangers in the group? I've been using and ENO Double Nest for several years now but I'm looking to upgrade, and am just looking for some suggestions. I really like the Dream Hammock Raven: http://www.dreamhammock.com/Raven.html

Apparently the comfort level of a 10 or 11 foot hammock compared to a 9 foot (like my ENO) is night and day....

What do you guys use?

Love my Warbonnet Ridgerunner. If you haven't tried a bridge hammock yet, you should!

Used a Hennesey Expedition for years but now I am in a Warrior from Little Shop of Hammocks in Saskatoon. James the owner provides great service and products and is a Canadian supplier to boot  Check him out  http://www.littleshopofhammocks.com/product/warrior-hammock/

Cheers
Sid

I make my own hammocks, tarps and bug nets but check out Hogshop - http://hofmanoutdoorgearsupply.ca/ for made in Manitoba hammock camping gear. I met the owner Gerrit and his wife out camping and they make some really neat gear as well as selling fabrics and hardware for DIY.

look at dutchware.com. his 11 ft. chameleon, with attached bug net is the most comfy in all my years of hammock hanging. i have had eno, hennessy, and warbonnett. i have his hex tarp as well. i have the 1.6 weight.
his titanium hardware is so slick, never tie a knot again.

A buddy just bought a Little Shop of Hammocks - he got a totally custom design based on emails back and forth with the owner. I'd definitely go that route if I were in the market.

Hey Steve E, Steve A. here. I can't sleep on the ground, on a cot or on a mat; hammocking is the only way to camp for me. And half the guys I trip with. Always level, always dry, never a rock or root... you know the upside.

I used to sleep in a Hennessey, but now I lend that out for trips. I now sleep almost flat in a Amok Draumr 3.0 Love it.

Seriously Steve, check out hammockforums.net. More hammock info than you can digest in three dozen rainy weekends

Finally was on a trip this weekend with my buddy who has the Little Shop of Hammocks unit - wow what a beautiful setup he has there! I should have taken more pictures or even a video.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I looked at all of the suggestions as well as a bunch of other hammocks but in the end I settled on the Raven from Dream Hammock for a couple reasons:

1. The bug net (which is removable) stows nicely above the hammock along the ridge line for easy deployment (great for those nights when the bugs are only out for a couple hours)
2. The hammock is so customizable (tie outs, stitching colour, gear loops, etc.) it's really great to be able to add whatever you want to the hammock
3. I've heard nothing but amazing things about the folks that run Dream Hammock and they have been fantastic with me. I know the others as suggested are good as well
4. The price was reasonable
5. The Raven is a symmetrical hammock which I like as I flip flop like crazy...Also comes in wide fabric which is another thing I wanted.

I'll post back when I get it and get a few nights in it! Thanks again!
