As I prepare for my upcoming trip I was getting ready to buy my usual 40 ounce Forty Creek Whiskey and 6 pack of Lakeport Honey Tall Boys when I got to thinking that it would be interesting to hear what others take while tripping.

It seems to me that booze is a very personal thing and that everybody has there preferred kinds. I would be most interested in hearing what others take on their trips!

Perhaps booze and canoeing don't mix but man I sure love sitting at the camp fire at night enjoying a few ounces of whiskey and a pinch of tabacco to chew on... :P

What does everyone else enjoy? :D

We take gin to mix in lemon lime gatoraid, scotch to strengthen the coffee and sambuca to chase away the chills.

My usual is either strait scotch, or vodka with gatoraide.
However in Nfld I was using the box of wine. Packed great once outta the box.

Scotch by far the most pratical and tasty!

I'm always equipped with tetra packs of wine on my trips. Its extremely heavy on those portages but completely worth it around the camp fire. After all the wines done, we switch to Canadians Club mixed with tang.

I"m not fussy; I'll settle for VSOP Cognac if there isn't any Single Malt Scotch.

Sometimes it's Vodka plus Caesar Pleaser clamato juice mix.

That mix from Wild West Seasoning (out of Manitoba, they ship) is great stuff to have on hand. Each pouch of powder makes a litre of clam. Their jerky spices are very good too.

I also like scotch, good rye, rum with iced tea, beer, jaegermeister, etc.

Cheers,
Bryan

Sorry - I forget sometimes that not everybody will know regional expressions. A quirly is what we call a hand-rolled cigarette, back home (south Tx.)

I like a nice sipping rum like El Dorado 12 paired up with an aromatic in my Brigham pipe. Only thing missing is the campfire, and I can fix that.
