Nice shovel, but....
One thing I used a shovel for a lot on winter trips was building snow walls for windbreaks, either around tents, or lunch stops on peaks. An aluminum blade allows you to very rapidly cut blocks, while the thicker plastic, and more rounded shape of plastic blades resist cutting and tend to break the blocks into pieces.
In addition, you can run your stove on an aluminum blade; I wouldn't want to do that on a plastic shovel blade.
And, after you eventually wreck an aluminum blade shovel, you can use metal from it for car repairs.
