View topic - short winter trip

Hey Guys, So summer is slowly coming to an end and we are starting to plan something for winter. Last year by the time we got to booking something we were limited to one choice, this year we are getting things rolling a little sooner. Because I'm looking more I'm rethinking staying in a yurt, for what you get they are incerdibly expensive. Im finding that for 30 or 40 more a night I can just get a hotel room. My thought was to rent a ranger cabin in algonquin, that would be the destination and snowshoe in, but they are closed for the winter..... Anyone have any suggestions for a weekend trip that would be suitable for a 3 year old as well? He is good to be outside and travel a bit but I don't think staying in a tent is a good idea with him yet so we are looking to stay somewhere heated with him.

Just as a follow up to this, we spent 2 nights here over last weekend and it was a very good experience, it wasn't winter camping but until we can get to that point it definitely worked out for us. I can definitely see it becoming a yearly tradition. Thanks Barbara for the info !
