I went in today as well . Nice easy walk in . Packed a few trails to most of the tent pads and cut and bucked up 4 trees near tent pads . Beautiful day . I saw some tracks and wondered who had walked in . Now I know .

Joe, are snowshoes required to get to the camp? My brother is coming for Sunday night, I do not have snowshoes for him.

Yesterday I walked in without snowshoes and the trail was frozen very hard . No post holeing at all . They are forecasting for 25 to 35 cm of snow by tomorrow evening . I would think though that by the time we all pull in on Saturday that the trail should be packed and frozen . He should be OK without snow shoes as long as he stays on the trail. scouter Joe

Last year I told myself - next year for sure!
This year I am in the middle of a major move of our family to a small town outside of Ottawa, about a 30 meter portage from my back yard to the Rideau system. And we are having another baby.
Maybe next year I"ll make deep freeze, we'll see

The weather looks very good for the next 6 days . Sunshine and temps in the single digits below freezing .I talked to the trapper yesterday and he has plowed the parking lot on Wed. after that snow fall and the lot is in good shape . We are in the middle of another fairly significant dump from Thur. through Fri. . He told me he will plow the lot again on Fri. afternoon and will be spending the weekend so the trail in should be packed and the pull in should be easy . Looking forward to seeing everybody .
