Nop, this is a Canadian "gene" thing!! Right now I am looking for the fabric for my winter tent and looking to build a new sled from a minimal budget.

There's a common misconception that Canada has 4 seasons..
when in fact there's only 2!!

Winter and July.

July is just about over.

The other myths I've heard and may explain are:

It is true, I ( we?) usually wear shorts until about the first snowfall...Once it snows, that's still a good time to BBQ and your beer won't get warm too fast.

At about -10C most people will lock themselves into their homes to stare outside and wonder what the hell am I doing !

Sleigh Beast is still alive! ( Too damn heavy to tear apart and we go back a ways now.....)

If you could sum that all up into a couple words.......I'd say

DEEP FREEZE! eh,

For me, thats the beauty of living up here. One season makes you appreciate the other. 2 totally different styles of camping / spending time outdoors, with different activities, different gear, different sites, etc.

Personally Im starting to enjoy the winter more. I find the crowds getting to be too much nowadays. There's a certain pristine beauty that comes along with a winter trip (although most people look at you like you have 4 heads when you try to explain it...)
