The kerosene wick lantern burns with no pressure in the font (tank) pushing the fuel out. The fuel is pulled up by the "wicking" action of the wick.

White gas lanterns (eg Coleman) use pressure within the font to push the fuel out. Hence to reason for the pump.

A kerosene pressure lantern is the same as above but it burns kerosene. Coleman makes a couple models of these, but not in the small size.

Thanks for clarifying Franco.

Still unsure as to what I'm gonna go with.

If kerosene....I like the look of that online site that I made reference to earlier in this post. They seem to really cover the bases when it comes to kerosene lanterns.
