Okay. I know by stating this, that some readers will post that I'm advertizing my new book. Well, I am. But I'm doing it because of three things: the first is because people on this site asked me to let them know when the darn thing is finally out (Wilderness Pleasures: A Practical Guide to Camping Bliss), second is because I have a video about it that's darn funny and I know everyone will enjoy on you tube
see...

and third...I think it's the best, funniest and most unique book about what we do out there and I'm very excited about telling people about it.

I think I saw Bob Rae and Rick Mercer in your video Kevin! Or was that Barry?

Cheeky as usual, Kevin!

I wish you good luck with the book - and have to say, you goofy style always works for me: paddling can be just too darn serious for real life. I'll take a look at Chapters and see whether they got it....

I think the scary part about the skinny dip scene is that Ash and I are holding hands - yikes.

Hey Kevin,
Received your book last week and have already finished reading it.
Lots of great stuff. i really enjoyed your discussion on the intrinsic value of wilderness.
I look forward to the next one!

P.S: Tell Alana she is looking sexy in the video. Now why couldn't it be her doing the skinny dipping?

Amazon.ca kept asking me over and over if I STILL wanted to be notified when this book came out, kept saying yes, even through the delays (was supposed out early july)
THEN, they never bothered to tell me it was OUT!!!!

Darn online sellers....

WEll, I'll try to get a copy from my local book guy....forget the BIG guys...

Thanks for the kind remarks.

Ya, it was odd with the on-line orders. They also had a different title for it at one time.

It's even more frustrating when you spend two years of your life writing something and not getting your order as well.

I like the book and think it's the best you've written so far.

I did pick up the book (was the last copy at Chapters at Kennedy/401), sort of thinking it would have good and readable advice for the next generation of paddlers in my family - the pictures are a riot, as yours usually are.

But after starting to read, I realize it offers a lot to the experienced paddler as well. It's similar to some of Bill Mason's stuff like "Song of the PAddle" or even "Waterwalker". You go into the mind of the reader and reflect on today's culture in the context of canoeing. I like that, and am thus not sure I'll easily part with the book!

Congrats again!

Thanks for the wonderful feedback.

Okay, here's a question for you. For the first time in years I don't have a book contract. Any ideas to put forward to the publisher???
