Route Description
Access to Put-In Information:

Put-In at Fort William Historical Park (Launching Fee).

Other access points: Neste Boat Launch, Kaministiquia River Heritage Park, Mission Island Conservation Area, Chippewa Park, Sandy Beach, Sturgeon Bay Boat Launch, Trout Bay Conservation Area

Take out at Grand Portage National Monument (this involves an international border crossing and remote border crossing permits must be purchased from both countries - if you want to end trip before border, portage up 400m boardwalk from Pigeon Bay to Visitor Information Centre on Highway 61)

Technical Guide:

An outstanding trip along a stunning coast with steep cliffs and clear waters. Only for the highly experienced as Lake Superior is so cold, if you dump, you only have use of your limbs for about 10minutes and will only live for about 2 hours. Don't go if you don't know how to paddle.

Trip Journal/Log/Report/Diary:

In June 2015 we left Fort William Historical Park and enjoyed 5 days of bucolic days on Lake Superior after which we happily arrived at Grand Portage National Monument.

Here's my blog on the trip:
