I had an offer of the maps and guide book on Bowron from Spudly but havent been able to get in touch with him since then. Does any one else have the maps/guide book who are willing to lend it to me for planning the trip? It would be much appreciated. Im in the Vancouver area.

Cheers

There is some excellent info at the BC Parks website including a map you can download.

I take it you mean this map?

Its ok but its not great from a navigation point of view. The best online map ive seen was this.

When you zoom in, you can see contour intervals and a decent amount of detail. Its just getting something like this printed and laminated really.

Hi Mac

Its so easy to get around the circuit you really don't need anything else than the BC park materials. I thought they did have a colour one at one point though. This is the best I could find

Either of the two maps is adequate. You can't get lost unless you really, really want to. They get several thousand visitors a year and the paths and waterways are clearly marked.

Hey Guys,

Back from the trip. It went really well. Thanks to all who offered their advice and assistance. Special thanks to Spudly for use of the guidebook and Blucruisin for the offer.

Took the full 7 days at a nice cruising pace. All id say to anyone doing it is, prepare well and respect the sections that people warn about.

I have a bit of experience on big water and ran the chute several times for fun. However novices should take heed and be cautious on it and on the Cariboo river. Prepare for all weather conditions. Many people we met decided to cut the trip short because they were soaked.

Thanks again guys
Mac

We are going this July, and would appreciate any advise you may have after doing the circuit - particularly with shuttles and outfitters. I will be flying in from Edmonton, with all our camping gear (any advise on flying with gear would be great), and will have to rent boat, stove etc.
