I wish to canoe the Skeena River in the next 30 days

I wish to put in using the railway from Prince George to Prince Rupert
Put in and take out using the VIA RAIL train

Although I am comfortable in Class III water

I will be in a fiber glass canoe more suitable to lakes

Can anybody suggest a route in the 14 day range
with of course a put in and take out using the train

Thanx in advance

There are only a few sections of the Skeena that are suited to open boats. Above Hazleton, it gets pretty gnarly. Below Hazleton with lower water like now it would be OK, but I'm not sure about Kitselas canyon. You can always scout and portage that. It would be a nice 6 or 7 day trip from Hazleton to Prince Rupert. I don't think the train stops at Hazleton, but it does stop in Smithers which is an hour away.
