So some friends and I (2 friends) want to do a river trip. I live in upstate new york and think a trip on the Susquehanna river would be awesome (an hour from my house). I just want to know an estimate of how long it would take to paddle the whole thing from saying Harrisburg PA, to the bay. We are in decent shape, and I have a good bit of kayak/canoe experience. Also, which should we bring? Kayak or canoe? Also are there any major dams we would need to look out for? Thanks, also any other recommendations would be great.

Curious post.. Especially in the British Columbia Discussion and resources section. BC is about 5000 km from the Susquehanna River.

Better forum would be paddling.com where you might get some advice from people who have done that river.

There are maps available.. I did a quick Google search. Don't know much about the river but five seconds of search found a map set
