Interesting. In August of 2015, the same year as your trip, our group planned to paddle the Lower Stikine, from downriver of Telegraph Creek to Wrangell, Alaska. By the time we reached the put-in, it had been raining pretty much steadily for a couple of weeks. The river was in flood, with many huge logs hurtling downriver. We waited three days, but the river kept rising, and was flowing through the trees. We abandoned the Stikine, and travelled back east for a shorter trip on the Dease River, which we had all canoed before. Still, it was pleasant, and salvaged our tripping aspirations.
