If it is Little Caribou or Caribou Lake, it would be easier to go down the Flint from a Smye lake put-in off that logging road and then end the trip with a paddle up the Caribou River from Smoothrock Lake since there are far fewer rapids to track up or portages to do.
from Wabakimi Lake to Wilkie Lake - about 16
from Wabakimi Lake to Little Caribou Lake take-out - about 9
if you are putting in at Allanwater Bridge and going down the Allanwater River, then it is probably easier to go up the Flindt!
