First, I did do a search here to see if this had come up, but there was minimal information. So, my question is - does anyone have any input on MHO Adventures? I'm thinking of doing one of their trips next summer and just wondered what your experiences might be with them.

Thanks.

Scott

I never used them. I paddled the upper Missinaibi twice around 20 years ago. I did use Missinaibi Outfitters in Mattice for a food cache (they only wanted $10) but the trip cut cut short (long story there).

What trip are you looking at?

MHO is now based out of Huntsville, Ontario. IMO they are a well respected outfitter with well trained guides. I have not done any trips with them however I did my WMA WFR with them at their base in Huntsville. It was a great course run by Matt Howell who is also one of their guides. The Missinaibi is a river they run regularly. Erin and Ryan are very welcoming and put the client experience first and foremost. I receive no remuneration for this post lol.

I received instruction from Greg Nettleton during a course this spring at the Madawaska Kanu Centre.
Greg works as a guide for MHO.
Well, Paddle Canada has meaningful standards and Greg gave demonstrations of expert level skills at an expert level.
In general my experience is that, as a small and highly specialised business, the MKC does not take the employment of instructors lightly. A guide being employed by MHO and also the MKC is a strong compliment to their competence. It is noticeable how many Black Feather Guides have also been employees at the MKC.

Ok sure, I am just showering praise on everyone!
