Back in June, we paddled the Larder River, an amazing canoe trip, through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the northeast! I had wanted to paddle here for ages and it did not disappoint.

Join Cam, Sheree, Leah and myself as we paddle 70km down Northeastern Ontario's Larder River.
This was to be Sheree's first whitewater experience, and the river provided a perfect smattering of intermediate to advanced rapids to lean and grow skills. This was one our favourite weekend outings ever. Highlights included over 7 waterfalls, rushing rapids, historic abandoned buildings and a breathtaking landscape of open rocky ridges, cliffs and plateaus. Definitely a gem you'll want to check out for yourself!

If you want to read up on our experience, our trip mate, Cam, already posted a great trip report with some great photos here

Upper stretches to Windego Lake are suitable for nearly all skill levels as portages skirt any rapid above a swift or easy CI. The lower stretch from Windego to the Blanche River requires intermediate tripping skills as some bushwhack portages and rapid running will be required.

Great video Brad! Loved seeing the waterfalls on the lower section. Incredible area that doesn't seem to get too much traffic.

Thanks for sharing.
