My father and I paddled the Mississagi from Spanish Lake to Aubrey Falls in the second week of July. Water levels below Bark Lake were low, making it a bit of a boot camp trip in a Kevlar boat. We encountered 3 extra set of rapids that were not on either the Chrismar map nor in Kevin Callan's report due to low water. Parts of Rocky Island Lake had actually disappeared! It was fantastic nonetheless...incredible scenery and isolation. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The link below goes to a trip report of it on my blog. In my usual fashion, it is long, detailed and has a number of pics. My blog is more of a journal for myself to help me remember my trips and also to help any others who might plan on doing the routes themselves. I write the trip reports for fun. Please enjoy if you take the time to read some of it.

Nice report,
I did the trip with my kids in mid-July. Finished a bit earlier than planned as well, due to the lack of campsites before Rocky Island Lake.

Hey rab. Think you were a couple of days behind us. We saw another car at the take out on our way out. Must have been yours. Yep, the search for decent sites on the river section can make for long days, indeed. Hope you enjoyed the trip with your kids.

That's right - Mike mentioned a father and son were in front of us. And we saw your yellow 'trail' markers left behind on the rocks!

Thanks Martin!

lol, Rab! Glad we could be of service. Our trail markers were highlighting where not to go! Think of it as our little public service effort for the Mississagi paddling community.
