Hit the waters of the Mighty(small) Sturgeon River, just north of edmonton.
Had a lovely time and saw 2 moose, honey bees swarming around the catsilks of a willow, ruff grouse showing off, Harrier?( I think working on settling in a nest, tree top] and a Mourning Cloak butterfly! wow!! good for April
The river was good fun with a few small rapids, a couple of ledges to surf and glorious warm sunshine
Great day trip......15-20 min. from town and another 15- 20 min for the shuttle
So good a day sat. we went back again on Sunday.
Spring is on the river!!! Yippie!!!

Must be nice!
Clearwater River is backed up from the Athabasca with trees and ice jam as far as we can see up river and the Athabasca is still solid.
