UPDATED

We are leaving early(5am ) Saturday morning from Calgary and going to (or almost to) Lake Louise and then canoeing all Saturday and some Sunday morning.

We have a 6-8 canoe trailer rented and we are renting canoes here in Calgary.

So far we have four people(2 canoes) and looking for any other that would like to join us.










Myself and one other are planning a canoe trip down the Bow from Louise to Banff, maybe further depending on time.

If anyone out there is interested in joining us, feel free to let me know.

We plan on camping one night, maybe two. And when we feel we have done enough, we will be calling our ride to pick us up, where ever that might be.

We may go a lot further, but we don't want to stick to any sort of schedule....if we feel like relaxing, we will, if we feel like canoeinf none stop all day, we will, but we will keep in mind the wants/needs of anyone that chooses to join us.

I haven't canoed down a river in 3 years and I don't believe Brad has done any river canoeing in 4+ years. I am very experienced in lake/ocean canoeing, but have only done a few river trips. We are both outdoor enthusiasts age 27 and 31. Easy going, fun and always looking for an adventure. We are both from Nova Scotia, but living in Calgary, for the last few years.

OK, I have to ask - where are you putting in?

When I read Lake Louise I immediately pictured the cascades flowing out of the lake itself and thought WOW, I didn't think even a creek boat could float in there.

Having thought about it for a whole minute now, I realize you must be putting in on the Bow River down in the town of Lake Lake Louise just off the highway, is that right?

That is about the only weekend I don't have plans for in the near future, so will keep it in mind. I have not canoed that stretch since about the time you two were born though.

We just canoed the North Saskatchewan last weekend from Nordegg to Rocky. There sure were a lot of good big bumps this year. We had a blast.

Trip went well last year...starting to thingk about this years trip, not sure where yet though.

And to answer question, we put in on the Bow around 8am Saturday morning, canoed till about 4-5pm Saturday evening taking out just above Banff.

It was a pretty chilled out trip, just the four of us.

Thinking about the north Saskatchewan this year....
