Anyone remember these or know where to get them.

Back in the '70s a set of paperbacks was published, I think as part of the Liberal's "Opportunities for Youth" program. The project hired a large group to canoe various AB rivers and write up their experience. They were quite detailed, rating river time, rapids grading, etc, published on rip/water-proof paper.

I have a copy of "Canoeing Alberta" by Janice E.MacDonald, published in 1985. You may be familiar with it. It has similar route descriptions to the ones you described, and is published in paperback by Lone Pine Press, but is out of print.

It acknowledges a Gov't of Canada "Needs grant".

Is this the same thing you're looking for? A friend of mine has also commented on a "Canoe Alberta" magazine or series, that has been discontinued; maybe that's the one you mean...

Canoeing Alberta by Janice MacDonald is available at your Libary, that's where I found it. Great book.
