There is a canoe circuit in Lakeland Provincial Park, near Lac La Biche. The circuit consists of three lakes, and has back country campsites. It's an easy paddle, can be done in two or three days, but this year I set up at a campsite and made little day trips out from there (rather than just following the circuit). It would be an excellent family trip, and the fishing is good.
There are a few small motor boats from time to time, as the Park staff has not yet restricted access, but that is supposed to happen in the future. Anyone I've met on the lakes is "good people" - respectful campers, and all that.

I've gone twice and it certainly is a gem of a location. I plan to go again this year but am looking for something further north. If anybody has any suggestions, please email me prior to August 2002 at sjfwhite@hotmail.com. Thanks!

Steve
