Hector Lake is the largest naturally formed lake in Banff NP, has anyone tried paddling it? I can't find any information on paddling Hector, and even the access trail info is pretty scarce.

I think access will be the biggest problem for you.

I paddled it last summer. It was a good paddle but getting in and out to the highway is very scetchy. It is worth doing for the views while on the water though and I would do it again but not solo. An extra person would make the uphill portage a little easier!

Bill.

Could you give more details Bill, please?
Did you camp overnight, how far did you paddle and where did you access the lake from?
Thanks,
Howie.
