I was able to schedule a week off this year and I'm looking for a route idea in the Jan Lake/Pelican Narrows region that would take 4 to 5 days, maybe 6.

Anyone here been in the area that could recommend a direction to go?

I assume that you've seen the route descriptions for that area? https://churchillrivercanoe.com/trips-c ... o-booklets
Trip #13 is one example in the area, and part of route #8 is another.
The closest to that area is the Sturgeon-Weir from Maligne (at the Hanson Lake Road) to Amisk Lake, and it's been several years. A trip in that region is one of the options that we're considering for an upcoming trip.

We did this trip -
Highway 106, Sturgeon-Weir River, Mirond Lake, Attitti Lake, Kakinagimak Lake, Wildnest Lake, Wildnest River, Sturgeon-Weir River, Highway 106 (Parts of Canoe Saskatchewan Trip 13 and Trip 22)
- a few years ago. Really a lot of variety. I believe that it took us 7 nights but I'd have to check my write-up to be sure. You're welcome to the trip report if you pm me.

@Pawistik - I was thinking of doing that trip simply because I have the map, I just need to convince someone to pick me up on Amisk. I like rivers (or narrow water bodies) more than big lakes so this one is pretty high on my list. Thanks.

@Ralph - That looks like a pretty good trip. I can't find the Widnest river, where is that? Did you leave your ride at HWY 106 at that outfitter/camp?

Hey GRS RiverRider,

I am with you. I also prefer small water bodies not a fan of big lakes. Check out my recent trip details of Contact Lake area. All the lakes are fairly small and there is a small river also. I hope to see new videos on your youtube channel.
