Anyone ever done this one? A quick google search comes up with one picture so a group departing from Smoothstone Lake, that’s about it. Was just I that area ice fishing and crossed it on the 916 highway, looks like it might make for a good early season, high water short trip and could be accessed via logging roads to avoid the lake.

Hi,
A few years ago I'm sure I read a Laurel Archer trip report about the Smoothstone River. I see that she has some pictures about this trip but I can't find any trip report. Perhaps if you contacted her via her website?
Good luck.

I've done the Smoothstone many times. It was the river we used for the Big River High School Outdoor Ed. classes. A combination of lakes and gr. 1 rapids. A good learning river. Begin at Smoothstone Lake and finish at the Besnard Road bridge. jack
