Last year the website received as a donation, copies of the Saskatchewan Canoe Route pamphlets published by the Provincial Government when Colin Maxwell was the Minister of Sask Parks and Renewable Resources. So these are from the end of the 1980s.

Later I can give a more complete description, but roughly these are equivalent to the route descriptions appearing on the Churchill River Canoe Outfitters website shown here: https://www.churchillrivercanoe.com/tri ... oklet.html

I have original print copies of pamphlets for Canoe Trips #1 through 41, 43 through 49, and 51 through 57.
It seems like Canoe Trips # 42 and 50 may have never existed or were not published, because for Churchill Canoe River Outfitters; there is a trip #58, and their collection also does not have a #42 or #50.

On this page: https://myccr.com/canoeroutes/Saskatchewan both #42 and #50 are stated to be Impassable.

Does anyone know any history to share about these?

I had them scanned, but there are a couple of errors to fix. They will be uploaded onto this website. Does anyone have any preferences for how that should be done. Currently the page https://myccr.com/canoeroutes/Saskatchewan exists, but it is not linked to anywhere on the site. So my plan at the moment is to update this page with copies of the pamphlets, and link to it somehow in the menus.

I'll just chime in and say that all of the route descriptions and locator maps are preserved as far as I can tell on the internet archive (web.archive.org). It is trivial to download everything and have the myccr page operate as it did, just that the pdf documents would be hosted on this site instead of as links to the government site. I really like the locator maps, so at a minimum I think they should be included too.

I was able to obtain a description of Canoe Trip #58, and this has also been uploaded. For trips #42 & 50 even the web archive does not have anything.

I have another set of SK canoe maps titled South Saskatchewan River Eco Canoe Guide which contains 14 sections. This is also a SK Government publication from 1995.

If you need or want to add this guide I can send you a PDF (15MB).

There are 58 routes and 4 different sets of files; booklets, area maps, locator maps, and text descriptions.
All of the files have now been uploaded to the same location, except;

For Booklets: 42, 50, and 58 are missing
For Area Maps: 6, 7, 42, 45, 50, 56 are missing
For Locator Maps: 6, 26, 42, 50, 56 are missing
For Text descriptions: 25, 42, 45, 50, 56 are missing

It is clear that nothing was ever published (or made available) for Canoe Trips 42 & 50.
The provincial website stated that Trip #56 was Impassable and did not provide any documents.
The other omissions are due to either of the original website or are missing from the internet archive.

This page https://myccr.com/canoeroutes/Saskatchewan
is essentially complete. I encourage you to help with checking by downloading the contents and looking for errors. I have just a few more things to do with it.
