We paddled the Montreal on 08 June. It was a really good trip. We ended up dropping a quad near the bridge and drove that the 20km back to the camp ground. A lot better than bringing two vehicles up there IMO. The water levels were excellent and there was minor rock dodging. There are two trees in the last section that are a bit tricky to avoid. It is a fair challenge and the last third can be a bit exhausting as there are not many suitable places to have a break /bail out the canoe due to the continuous sets of rapids. On the last set there is an old aluminum canoe racked up at the end of the last set of rapids. It was a good reminder to take safety on the water very seriously even on a smaller river with low class rapids. Over all it was a lot of fun and would paddle it again in a heartbeat.

Sounds like fun! Any pictures?
Remind me which reach of the Montreal you paddled, please?

We did the section between highway 2 and the take out point at the bridge on the 165 secondary. No I do not have pictures(forgot my camera) but we may paddle again next week. The second half of the the reach is very scenic though.
