Apparently I have reached my attachment quota despite dropping a photo on page 2, so it won't allow me to add the corrected photo here.

I think if I was able to take a summer off and wander this part of the world at will that it would be the experience of a lifetime. What I have seen only draws me back again and again. Unless I am able to share it with others though, it is not nearly as fulfilling so please do try some of these places and enjoy the beauty and solitude that we have come to relish so much.

Please remember to practice catch and release for most of your fishing and use low impact camping at all times. We want this area to remain the marvel that it is. Enjoy, and maybe we shall run across each other in some wild and unimaginable place ....we have the strangest encounters ...lol.

Mihun;
Great photos! I love this area.

I wonder if you got the labeling flipped in these photos?
River left should be on the left facing downstream with the current at your back. It seems to me the pics labeled RL and RR, we are facing upstream and the designation should be reversed.

Yes, you are correct, the photo is incorrectly labelled. I'm glad you caught that as I may never have.

In the process of editing that yesterday, when loading the modified pics onto the forum, my hard drive crashed and burned. So... I have lost all those photo's and everything I have taken in the past 3 years. (cries). When I can afford to I will try to recover that data from the drive, in the meantime I cannot change those photo's that are wrong. I am still unemployed so scraping together enough pennies to just buy a new drive is the task for today.

I will get it fixed eventually. Once I get up and running again I should be able to do a screen cap' from here and then fix and replace the photo's, until then, think like a mirror, lol.

New to this forum. Looks like a lot of great info on the route. Has anyone looked into accessing Kosteck from the small lake between BP4 and BP5? It's the one that looks like a man with an open mouth and something sticking out of the top of his head. I haven't been up there and looks by the topo that it might be a cliff face on RL around the bend in the river, but it could save a bit of time if there was access to the lake to the NE. I'm planning on heading up the Broadleaf this summer and was curious if the option had been tried and dismissed.

There is part of a portage coming from the other end, which we walked to that lake last year. It was very wet and winding from the other side.

We do plan to work our way in from the Broadleaf at some point to try to make a portage all the way across.

Christy will follow up with better information.
