martin - great trip choice of river for your son and you to paddle. Didn't you two do the Coulonge last year a couple of weeks before my bro and I did? The Bloodvein will be a step up and it has much more of a wilderness feel.

Maybe Red Lake Outfitters can arrange a car shuttle from Red Lake to Bloodvein First Nation or to the bridge across the river; it may save you $1000. That Wallace Lake entry sounds like a real character builder!

Congrats on re-reading my report! It is nothing if not detailed! Must have taken you all evening!

Of course you can copy whatever you think would be helpful! That is the whole point of posting these trip reports. Well, that and it also provides a purpose for a few of the 700 pix I end up shooting with the ten pounds of camera gear I lug along. Somehow having them just end up on my computer hard drive seemed pretty pointless. It is kinda nice to share the pix in the guise of a trip report!

Back in 2013 I ran off large chunks of CIIcanoe's trip report of a 21-day trip down the Misehkow and Albany and up a couple of other rivers - we checked out the next day's details each night before calling it a day!

Good luck with copying all that stuff! Hap Wilson's chapter is all you really need!

Thanks, true_north. Is it just me, or does the expression, "character builder" have an ominous ring to it? :)
