I'm considering a trip on the Natashquan. Looking at accessing the river starting from the train line at Oreway, crossing over to the Romaine and from there crossing over to the Natashquan.

I have detailed maps of the Oreway to Romaine section which appears not too difficult. For the Romaine to Natashquan I have no info. Studying the maps shows a few options to make this crossover but without further details I'm hesitant, don't want to end up taking the worst possible route.

I know there have been at least a couple of groups that have accessed the Natashquan this way, would love to know which routes they used and some commentary on the difficulties.

My plans for the Natashquan trip have come together. I will be leaving shortly and plan to return in mid August. The "group" consists of two solo boats and a mountain of gear!

You can find some basic information and links to maps and my tracking page at the following:

http://recped.com/natashquan/ (wait for the page to load it's a bit slow)

Well that was truly epic!

Trip of a lifetime, my longest in time, 36 days, my longest in distance, 740km and physically by far the hardest thing I have ever done.

I'll start posting some of the details in the next few days, the entire story will take some time appear.
