Hey Joco;
I paddled from about there to the Gatineau many decades ago. I remember it being mostly flat, slow water without a lot of good fishing spots, lots of sand, lots of farms.
The Riviere D'Aigle, which you can see flowing into the Desert south of there is a more pleasant paddle but it too gets slow and windy as it gets closer to the Desert. Put in at the confluence with the Hibou. There are a couple of R1-ish rapids. Some bass and the odd walleye.
We fished the D'Aigle for speckled trout upstream from the Hibou 50+ years ago but the pike got up there and the specs are mostly gone now. Until it meets up with the D'Hibou it's a small creek.
I've caught walleye on the Hibou, but it has rapids and a lift-over - the third bit of whitewater you can see on the map below the lake is an RIII but there is access so you can put-in below it. From there to the D'Aigle there are some RIIs and a lift-over. The last rapid is bumpy in low water.
