Hey There,

A group of us were planning a river canoe trip at La Verendrye on Rivière Gens de Terre in August. We're going to be doing the 2 day (25km) section of the river and I was hoping to get some more info than what's provided on the Canot Camping website.

Has anyone ever done this circuit? I can't seem to find anything on MYCCR regarding it. If so, how are the sites? Are most rapids fairly easy to run in the late summer? Are there many leeches - seems to be an issue on many lakes at La Verendrye I find.

Any info would be great !

Thanks

You can find a detailed map/guide here:

http://www.cartespleinair.org/Canot/04/ ... uc2016.pdf

Section 1 only takes about 5 hours or so to paddle, there are just a couple of small/easy rapids. Can't comment on the leaches but by late summer they may be around.

You can see on the guide that there are only a couple of marked campsites in that section and probably only one that is nice which comes right near the end of the section
