Would this be covered by Ontario OHIP?

I had a lengthy discussion with my insurance provider in the fall about such things and they told me that something like that within Ontario would be provided by OHIP. And they did not really have a product they could sell me.

Should I be looking for a different provider?

What about La Verendrye for an Ontario resident?

Cooperators has a plan. Getting details on the phone right now.

Benefits up to $10,000,000 zero deductible. Includes air ambulance including mountain or sea evac.

1-800-958-8210

EDIT: just shy of $25 to cover me and my son for 5 days

I'm not sure why they told me 6 months ago they had nothing to sell me - maybe because at the time it was in province not out of province. But this time I called in and right away she told me what was available and 3-4 minutes later we were done. 5 minutes after that I had all the documents in my email.

As of this year all fees now include air lift medevac insurance - so you are automatically covered. I'll dig out the info and post.

Just got back from Circuit 15 - interesting 5 days including watching several canoes become airborn in a severe thunderstorm. Was not fun.

That would be the best plan.

Oh sorry I still have not dug out the Med Evac info - there was a little leaflet they gave us with the name of the company but now I can't find it. And I don't see it on their site. I'll try to call and get the info.

I would think it may cost more than $10,000 to get med evac via air ambulance from a very secluded area in the wilderness

My Spot tracker subscription has a GEOS search and rescue insurance available for an additional $18 per year. If I remember correctly it covers up to 150K in SAR costs.
