Hello everyone. Recommendations for a remote canoe trip in Quebec for 7 days on water? Group of guys with varying canoe experience. Key features have to be fairly remote, good fishing, and have access to an outfitter who can provide everything as I have folks flying in from far and can’t carry much. Nothing more than moderate difficulty in terms of white water given some have little technical experience. But they are all fit so the portage and paddling not an issue.

Will be in Montreal in mid August so thought it might be nice to explore la belle province once I’m done at conference.

Canoe outfitters in "remote" areas of Quebec are almost non-existent, you might be better off renting boats in Montreal.

On the other hand have a look at La Vérendrye, it's not extremely remote but there are a number of routes where you will see few if any people especially after the first portage. Gear / boats can be rented on site.

You can also search this site for La Vérendrye, there are many older posts and many regulars have paddled there if you have questions.

I second recped's suggestion for La Vérendrye and suggest the Chochocouane River from Lac Cambrai to the highway. That's about a 7 day trip. It's a nice mix of quiet water, some runable water and some short portages. You can arrange for transportation to Lac Cambrai and pick up at end of trip at the highway with the people at Canot Camping La Vérendrye.

Here's a description of the Chochocouane River.

PS: The people at La Vérendrye rent canoes, paddle, life jackets, etc.
